In this tutorial, I will show you how to install LibreOffice 7.0.0 on Ubuntu 20.04 LTS / 18.04 LTS, LinuxMint 20, CentOS 8.x, and Fedora.
LibreOffice an opensource and alternative for Microsoft and open office, unlike others LibreOffice supports lots of tools, this suite contains the following Writer, Calc, Impress, Draw, Math and Base.

Installation steps
Before proceeding for installation remove the previous versions of LibreOffice or OpenOffice.
sudo apt-get remove libreoffice-core
Install LibreOffice 7.0.0 on Ubuntu / Linux Mint via PPA
Step 1: Add the Official PPA
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:libreoffice/libreoffice-7-0
Step 2: Update the repository
sudo apt update
Step 3: Install LibreOffice 7.0.0
sudo apt install libreoffice
Install LibreOffice 7.0.0 on Ubuntu / LinuxMint / CentOS / Fedora from the source files
Step 1: Download the Source files using the below command according to your distribution
For Debian based systems
wget https://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/tdf/libreoffice/stable/7.0.0/deb/x86_64/LibreOffice_7.0.0.3_Linux_x86-64_deb.tar.gz
For RPM-based systems
wget https://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/tdf/libreoffice/stable/7.0.0/rpm/x86_64/LibreOffice_7.0.0.3_Linux_x86-64_rpm.tar.gz
Step 2: Download the tar file and extract the package
Cannot add PPA: 'ppa:~libreoffice/ubuntu/libreoffice-7-0'.
ReplyDeleteThe team named '~libreoffice' has no PPA named 'ubuntu/libreoffice-7-0'
The official PPA is not updated and already highlighted in the post before the PPA installation steps.

ReplyDeleteJust in case others find a problem,
I needed to add # sudo apt-GET update.
Then it brings down all the pkgs.
Looked for this for minutes, which in IT guy times is hours.
